“People seem so fond of quotes. Well, how about this:

“Never was so much false arithmetic employed to persuade nations that it is in their best interest to go to war.” Thomas Jefferson

“The difference between liberals and conservatives is not spending. Ronald Regan and George W. Bush have exploded the deficit more than any other presidents. The difference between these two ideologies lies in where the money is spent. Conservatives choose to spend the money on the military (lest we forget the nuclear arms race and “star wars”), whereas the liberals prefer spending on social programs. In one case, we’re better at killing. In the other, more people have food and health care. Apparently, America has decided which country they prefer.

And before someone responds with yet another apocalyptic senario, more people each year die from inadequate health care than from terrorist attacks.”

Republicans Attack Democrats

CNN just reported that Republicans are going to attack a handful of Democrats who supported Obama’s energy bill, saying it will stunt job growth. Last fall I voted for this energy bill. Last fall I, along with the majority of this country, voted for a president who said he would make sure this energy bill came to light. My congressmen BETTER vote for it! I live in Virginia and expected Rick Boucher to support what I voted for. He better not run from this.
What I want to know is who are the 44 Democratic congressmen who voted against it? Their constituents also voted for this energy bill last November. There should be a list of these congressmen posted on every blog in America. There doesn’t seem to be much point in returning the attack on Republicans, everyone knows where they stand. That’s why we voted the way we did in November.
